An AI chatbot for your restaurant

Answer menu, allergen and booking questions during service, without pulling a server off the floor.

QUICK ANSWER

A restaurant chatbot should answer hours, location, menu, prices, allergens, delivery radius, large-party rules and booking steps. Allergen answers must quote your own documented information and end with "confirm with staff". It should never guess an ingredient. Clipaist Agent answers from approved content and hands serious allergy questions to a person.

Questions your restaurant gets every week

These are the answers the agent should give, taken from your own published content. Anything clinical, legal or financial goes to a person.

Are you open on Sunday?

Quote your real hours, including kitchen closing time.

Do you have gluten-free options?

List only dishes you have documented as gluten-free, and add "please confirm with staff before ordering".

Can I book a table for 10?

Explain your large-party rule: booking link, deposit or set menu.

Do you deliver to my postcode?

Give your delivery radius or link to the delivery partner.

Is there parking?

Answer from your location notes, including nearby car parks.

Do you have a kids menu?

Describe it and the price if published.

Allergens are the one answer you cannot improvise

A chatbot that guesses whether a dish contains nuts is dangerous. The rule should be: answer only from your documented allergen sheet, and always add a line telling the guest to confirm with staff before ordering.

If your allergen information is not written down, that is the first task, not a chatbot task. The bot can only be as accurate as your source.

Menu changes break crawled content

Restaurant menus change weekly. If the bot learns from a crawled PDF, it will quote last month's prices. Keep the current menu in your knowledge source and pin the dishes guests ask about most.

A simple habit: whenever the menu changes, update the same document the bot reads. One source of truth beats two.

Bookings, deliveries and the phone

During service nobody can answer the phone. The chatbot covers the repeat questions and collects reservation requests with name, party size, date and time, then hands them to your host.

For delivery, point to your partner rather than quoting a time you cannot guarantee. A wrong ETA creates more complaints than a slow one.

Before you launch

  • Write your allergen sheet before you launch the bot.
  • Pin the dishes guests ask about most, with current prices.
  • Collect party size and date for bookings instead of confirming.
  • Point to the delivery partner instead of quoting an ETA.

Frequently asked questions

Can it take reservations?

It can collect the request and hand it to your host, or send your booking link. Confirming a table without your system is not safe.

Can it answer allergy questions?

Only from your documented allergen information, and always with a "confirm with staff" line. It must never guess an ingredient.

Does it work in multiple languages?

Clipaist Agent replies in English during launch. Other languages are planned; do not promise them to guests until they are live.

What does it cost?

Free during launch, no card: 3 agents and 200 customer messages per month each.
