An AI chatbot for your dental practice
Answer the questions your front desk repeats all day, at 11 pm, without giving medical advice.
QUICK ANSWER
A dental chatbot should answer five things from your own policy: appointment availability, prices and payment plans, insurance accepted, what to do in a dental emergency, and where you are located. It must never diagnose pain or promise a treatment outcome. Clipaist Agent answers from approved content, collects the patient's name and phone number, and hands anything clinical to your team.
Questions your dental practice gets every week
These are the answers the agent should give, taken from your own published content. Anything clinical, legal or financial goes to a person.
How much does a check-up cost?
Quote your published fee and note that treatment plans are confirmed after examination.
Do you accept my insurance?
List the insurers you accept, and ask for the provider name if it is not on the list.
I have severe tooth pain tonight, what should I do?
Give your emergency instruction (call this number / go to A&E if swelling or fever) and hand off immediately.
Can I book a cleaning for Saturday?
Share your real opening hours and the booking link or phone number; never invent a free slot.
Do you offer braces or clear aligners?
Describe the treatments you offer and the consultation step, without promising a result.
Where are you and is there parking?
Address, parking notes and the nearest transport link from your contact page.
What a dental chatbot should and should not do
It should handle admin: hours, address, prices, insurance, how to book, what to bring, whether you treat children, and what happens after a procedure. That is the bulk of front-desk volume and it repeats every day.
It should not diagnose. A chatbot that says "that sounds like an abscess, take ibuprofen" is a clinical risk and a complaints risk. The safe pattern is a short, calm instruction plus an immediate handoff to a human.
The questions that actually fill your inbox
Most practices see the same six questions: price, insurance, availability, emergency, location and "do you do X treatment". If your site already has the answers buried in pages, the chatbot can surface them instantly; if it does not, the chatbot exposes the gap, which is useful too.
Put prices, insurers, opening hours and the emergency number in pinned key facts. Crawled page text can go stale after a price change; pinned facts are updated in one place.
Patient data and privacy
Collect the minimum: a name and a phone number or email, plus the question. Do not ask for date of birth, insurance policy numbers or medical history in chat. Tell patients the assistant is automated and offer a human contact.
Keep transcripts only as long as you need them, and check that your provider lets you delete them. Your practice is the data controller; the chatbot vendor is a processor.
Before you launch
- Pin your emergency instruction as the highest-priority fact.
- List insurers exactly as they appear on your policy sheet.
- Never let the bot quote a treatment plan price without an examination note.
- Ask patients to confirm a callback number rather than a full medical history.
Frequently asked questions
Can the chatbot book appointments?
It can share your booking link and collect a callback request. Direct calendar booking is a custom integration; without it the bot should never claim a slot is reserved.
Will it give medical advice?
It should not. Configure it to answer admin questions and hand clinical questions to your team with the conversation attached.
Is patient data safe?
Collect only contact details, avoid clinical history in chat, and check your provider's retention and deletion controls before launch.
How much does Clipaist Agent cost?
Free during launch, no card: 3 agents and 200 customer messages per month each. Paid plans with higher limits are planned.
