Frequently asked questions
How do I reduce the size of a PDF?
Add the PDF, choose Balanced and press Compress. Photos and scans inside are recompressed. If the result is still too big, try Strong.
How much smaller will my PDF get?
Scans and photo-heavy PDFs often shrink by 50-80%. A PDF that is mostly text is already small, so savings can be 10% or less. The tool shows the exact result for every file.
What is the difference between Balanced and Strong?
Balanced recompresses the images and keeps text, links and fonts selectable. Strong redraws every page as an image for the smallest size, so text can no longer be selected or searched.
Is my PDF uploaded to compress it?
No. Compression runs in your browser. Contracts, IDs and invoices never leave your device.
Why did my PDF not get smaller?
It may already be optimised or contain mostly text and vector graphics. In that case the tool keeps your original instead of making a bigger file. Try Strong if you accept image-based pages.
Can I compress many PDFs at once?
Yes. Add up to 100 files and download the results as a ZIP.
Will compression damage quality?
Image quality drops slightly at Balanced and visibly at Strong. Light keeps the most quality. Always keep your original file.
